The Staff Selection Commission has officially published the notification for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) Examination 2026. This recruitment drive offers 1,871 executive uniformed posts across Delhi Police, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), alongside specialized Sub-Inspector (Fire) positions in CISF. SI (Fire) in CISF Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400/-)

Group 'B' (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial technical fire protection cadre deployed at airports, seaports, and strategic industrial plants.

Allowances & Emoluments: In addition to basic pay, appointees receive Central DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, Ration Money Allowance, Special Duty Allowance, and Risk/Hardship allowances depending on the force and deployment location.

Educational Qualifications & Essential Driving License Norms

1. For SI in Delhi Police & CAPFs (GD)

Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent. Candidates whose final results are declared on or before the cutoff date are eligible.

2. For SI (Fire) in CISF (Male Only)

Bachelor's Degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM); OR 10th pass with 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical, or Telecom Engineering.

Mandatory Driving License for Delhi Police (Male Only): Male candidates applying for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PE&MT). Learning licenses are strictly not accepted. Candidates without an LMV license are considered solely for CAPFs.

Medical Standards & Permissible Tattoo Policy

  • Visual Acuity: Minimum distant vision must be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye) without visual correction like spectacles or refractive surgery. Near vision must be N6 (better) and N9 (worse).
  • Defects: Candidates must be free from Knock-Knees, Flat-Foot, Varicose Veins, and Squint. High color vision is mandatory.
  • Tattoo Regulations: Tattoos depicting religious symbols or names as permitted in the Indian Army are allowed. Location is strictly restricted to the inner aspect of the left forearm (non-saluting limb) or dorsum of hands. Size must be less than 1/4th of the particular limb.

  • Matriculation / 10th Certificate: Original proof verifying candidate's name, parents' names, and exact Date of Birth.
  • Degree / Diploma Certificates: Mark sheets of all years/semesters and Degree Certificates proving qualification declared on or before the cutoff date.
  • Driving License (for Delhi Police Male): Valid permanent LMV Driving License for Motorcycle and Car issued prior to the date of PST/PET.
  • Caste / Category Proof: Central Government format SC/ST or OBC-NCL certificate. (OBC certificates issued by GNCTD are accepted exclusively for SI in Delhi Police).
  • EWS Certificate: Income & Asset Certificate valid for FY 2026-27 based on FY 2025-26 family income below ₹8 Lakhs.
  • NCC Certificate: Original 'A', 'B', or 'C' certificate held on or before the application closing date to claim bonus marks.
  • Ex-Servicemen Credentials: Discharge Book, PPO, and documentary proof of specialized commando units (for Delhi Police special quota).
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): Original NOC from the employer for candidates currently employed in Government organizations.
