It begins with a Computer Based Test (CBT) covering mathematical ability, logical reasoning, and mental reasoning, followed by a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) that specifically evaluates suitability for a high-responsibility role like Section Controller. Only those who clear both stages move on to Document Verification and a Medical Examination, with no interview involved anywhere in the process — meaning the entire selection rests purely on test performance and document authenticity.

Since this is a technical and operationally sensitive post tied directly to railway safety, the scrutiny at each stage tends to be thorough. Aspirants are advised to fill in every application detail — particularly name, date of birth, and category — with great care, since corrections after submission are only possible within a limited window and require an additional fee.
