Rajasthan SET 2026 – Complete Information in English (What is SET, Eligibility, Exam Date, Fee)

What is Rajasthan SET 2026? The Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (SET) is a state-level eligibility examination conducted by the University of Kota, Rajasthan. If you wish to become an Assistant Professor or Lecturer in any Government or Private University/College in Rajasthan, you must qualify either the UGC NET or Rajasthan SET. The SET certificate is valid only within the state of Rajasthan. Once qualified, the certificate remains valid for a lifetime with no renewal or expiry requirement.

Rajasthan SET 2026 Notification: The University of Kota released Notification No. 01/2026 on 11 June 2026. Online applications started on 14 June 2026, and the last date to apply is 15 July 2026. The examination will be conducted on 06 September 2026 (Sunday). Exams for all 35 subjects will be held on the same day and at the same time. Subjects include Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Law, Life Science, Management, Mathematics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Sanskrit, Rajasthani, Urdu, Yoga, and others.

What is the Eligibility? Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree (Post Graduation) from a UGC-recognized university. General and EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks, while OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender candidates must have at least 50% marks (without rounding off). Final-year postgraduate students or candidates awaiting results are also eligible to apply. However, they must complete their PG degree within two years from the declaration of the SET result with the required percentage; otherwise, they will be considered disqualified. There is no upper age limit for applying to Rajasthan SET.

What is the Exam Pattern? The Rajasthan SET consists of two papers, both objective-type examinations conducted through OMR/CBT mode. Paper-I (100 Marks, 50 Questions, 1 Hour) includes Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Reading Comprehension, and General Awareness. This paper is common for all candidates. Paper-II (200 Marks, 100 Questions, 2 Hours) is based on the candidate’s chosen subject (usually the postgraduate subject). There is no break between the two papers. The complete examination lasts 3 hours and consists of 150 questions carrying 300 marks. Each question carries 2 marks, and there is no negative marking, so candidates are encouraged to attempt all questions.

Application Fee: The application fee is ₹1,500 for General/OBC (Creamy Layer)/Outside Rajasthan candidates, ₹1,200 for EWS and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, and ₹750 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
