🏗️ About NHIDCL and the SSGS Scheme

📋 Eligibility — IIT/NIT/NIRF Top-100 Graduates Only

The qualification bar for the Associate (SSGS) post is specific and non-negotiable. Candidates must hold a Graduation degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline from an institution that was ranked within the Top 100 in the Engineering category of NIRF Rankings — either for the year of the candidate's graduation or the immediately preceding year. This means IITs, NITs, and other top engineering institutions qualifying under NIRF Top-100 Engineering are eligible. Institutions not in this list are not eligible regardless of recognition status. The experience requirement is 0 to 2 years post-qualification — meaning this is primarily targeted at fresh graduates or those with up to 2 years of experience. The upper age limit is 30 years as on the date of issue of the advertisement (06.07.2026). Final year students expecting to complete graduation before joining may also apply.

💼 What Will You Actually Do? — Terms of Reference

Selected Associates will work across five core functional areas of NHIDCL's highway project cycle. In Project Preparation & Design Appraisal, they will assist in reviewing feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and alignment plans for compliance with IRC and MoRTH standards. For Construction Supervision & Project Monitoring, they will undertake regular field visits, monitor physical and financial progress, and report on quality, safety, and specification adherence — this is where field-level technical exposure happens. Under Contract & Documentation Support, Associates will assist in contract management, correspondence, technical notes, and project records/MIS maintenance. In Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance, they will review test results and site practices, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and QAPs (Quality Assurance Plans). Finally, in Post-Construction & O&M Support, they will assist in completion documentation, punch-list closure, and monitoring during the defect liability period. Detailed Terms of Reference (ToR) will be drawn by the respective Regional Offices for each selected Associate.

💰 Remuneration, Tenure, and Payment Terms

Associates will be engaged at a monthly consultancy fee of Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000/-, with an annual enhancement of 5% per year. For those deployed at NHIDCL offices in Andaman & Nicobar Islands — an additional Location Allowance of 20% of the consultancy fee is admissible. The remuneration is all-inclusive of applicable taxes — no separate allowances or facilities are provided. Payment is made monthly within 7 days of month-end, subject to work certification by the Controlling Officer. Income Tax/TDS will be deducted at source and TDS certificates will be issued by NHIDCL. GST liability, however, rests with the Associate as an independent consultant. The engagement tenure is 2 years, extendable by 1 year at a time up to a maximum of 3 years — continuation beyond the first year is subject to review by the Consultants' Review Committee (CRC). Associates are independent consultants — not employees, staff members, or officials of NHIDCL — and no employer-employee relationship is created by this engagement.
