About the NATS Scheme

The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) is a flagship Government of India program for freshers, designed to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world work experience while boosting employability.

Diploma, degree, and vocational course graduates across a wide range of subject domains can apply for apprenticeship training after registering on the NATS 2.0 portal.

On completing training, apprentices receive a Government of India-issued Certificate of Proficiency, which is recognized as valid work experience at employment exchanges across India and accepted by companies and government employers alike.

Registration is done at nats.education.gov.in/student_register.php, with support available via the toll-free helpline 1800-425-3770.

A new mandatory rule introduced in 2026 requires linking an APAAR ID (Academic Bank of Credits ID) to the NATS 2.0 portal. The APAAR ID can be generated at abc.gov.in using Aadhaar OTP verification. Stipends under NATS across various states and PSUs typically range from ₹8,000 to ₹12,300 per month depending on diploma versus degree qualification.
