Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUN) has floated a Common Recruitment Exercise on behalf of all five state power companies — RVUN, RVPN, JVVN, AVVN and JdVVN — for Junior Accountant and Junior Assistant/Commercial Assistant-II posts. A single application lets a candidate compete across companies of their choice, but that choice, once submitted, is locked in for good — there's no second chance to revise your company preference.

The Five Companies — Who Does What, and Where

Vacancy Snapshot by Company (Non-TSP + TSP Combined)

JVVN carries the single largest share of posts across both categories combined. Figures include TSP + Non-TSP area vacancies. Vacancies may increase/decrease at the Nigam's discretion — no corrigendum will be issued for such changes.

Educational Qualification

Final-year/semester candidates may also apply but must produce proof of the completed qualification at the time of Document Verification. Ex-servicemen are exempt from the computer qualification requirement until joining, provided they complete a minimum 3-month certificate course from a defence institution.

Age Limit — Full Relaxation Table (as on 01-01-2027)

Age relaxation is generally non-cumulative — only one relaxation clause can be claimed, except PwBD candidates, who get the disability relaxation on top of their category relaxation.

Junior Accountant — Exam Structure

Single Computer-Based Test, 2 hours, Objective (MCQ) only. No interview.

Negative marking applies for every wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks: 30% for UR, 20% for SC/ST/BC/MBC/EWS/Ex-servicemen/PwBD — required separately in both Part-A and Part-B.

Junior Assistant/Commercial Assistant-II — Exam Structure

Two phases: Phase-I is a Computer Based Test in two stages (Pre-exam for screening only, then Main-exam); Phase-II is a Type Writing Test.

No negative marking in Pre-exam; negative marking applies in Main-exam. Candidates equal to about 3x category-wise vacancies are admitted to the Type Writing Test. PwBD candidates skip the typing test and instead get the average marks obtained in their Main-exam.

PwBD Eligible Disability Categories

Shortlisted PwBD candidates undergo mandatory verification by Medical Boards constituted by the Rajasthan Medical Department at Divisional Headquarters — final eligibility is decided on that verified report, regardless of any pre-existing certificate.

Scribe & Compensatory Time

• Available to Cerebral Palsy candidates and others whose writing speed is permanently affected, on production of a certificate from a Government Chief Medical Officer/Medical Superintendent.
• Candidate must arrange their own scribe, at their own cost.
• The scribe's qualification must be at least one step below the candidate's, and from a different academic stream than the one prescribed for the post.
• The scribe cannot be a candidate for the same exam — violation cancels both candidatures.
• Compensatory time is 20 minutes per hour, but only for candidates who register for it in the online application — it cannot be granted afterward.
• Visually Impaired candidates (40%+ disability) may instead opt for magnified-font test content, but not both magnified font and a scribe together.

Ex-Servicemen — Key Provisions

• Must be a bonafide resident of Rajasthan and have served in the Regular Army, Navy, or Air Force.
• Territorial Army pension holders, those with service-related disability, and Gallantry Award winners are also covered.
• Someone retiring within the next year can apply using a No-Objection Certificate (NOC), but must submit proof of retirement before joining.
• Once an ex-serviceman joins service using this category's benefit, their ex-servicemen status for future re-employment in the Vidyut Nigams ceases.
• Computer qualification is not mandatory at application stage for Ex-servicemen — only before joining, and a 3-month defence-institution certificate course counts.

Grounds for Disqualification

• Having more than one living spouse, or marrying someone who already has a living spouse (unless specially exempted under Personal Law).
• Having accepted dowry at the time of one's own marriage.
• Having more than two children born on or after 01-06-2002 (with specific exceptions for pre-2002 counts, twins/multiples from a single delivery, disabled children, and adoption).
• This two-child bar does not apply to widow or divorcee women candidates.

Document Scanning Specifications

Signature and handwritten declaration must NOT be in capital letters. The declaration must be handwritten in English only, in the candidate's own hand — if typed or written by someone else, or in another language, the application becomes invalid. PwBD candidates unable to write may get it typed and affix their left thumb impression below it instead.

Examination Centres — 12 Cities Across Rajasthan

Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Dausa, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar, Sriganganagar, Udaipur.

• Candidates must give preference for six centres — but RVUN can allot any other centre regardless of preference.
• Choice of centre, once made, is final — no request for change of centre, venue, date, or session will be entertained under any circumstance.
• For Junior Assistant/Commercial Assistant-II, Phase-II centre allotment depends on administrative convenience and seat availability, separate from Phase-I.

Identity Verification — What's Accepted, What's Not

Accepted: PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter Card, Bank Passbook with photo, Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar, gazetted-officer-attested photo ID, college/university ID, Employee ID, Bar Council ID.

Merit List & Tie-Breaking

• Category-wise merit lists are prepared separately for each post based on final scores.
• In case of a tie, the older candidate (by date of birth) is placed higher in the merit list.
• If all else is equal between a PwBD and a non-PwBD candidate, preference goes to the PwBD candidate — even if it exceeds the prescribed reservation quota.
• Document Verification is called for roughly 2x the vacancies per category, in merit order; failing to appear leads to automatic rejection.
• A final Common Merit List is prepared only after Document Verification, and company allotment happens from this list based on merit, stated preference, and category-wise vacancy availability.

One structural point to flag clearly: this is a common exam feeding five different employers, so your company ranking in the application isn't just a formality — it directly decides which Nigam you could end up joining if selected. Since preferences can't be revised after submission, it's worth thinking through the company order before you hit Final Submit, not after.
