Unlike a generic state exam, this one is split by subject stream, and the paper structure changes depending on whether you're applying for the Intermediate or Graduate category.

One detail that trips up a lot of applicants: this notification runs alongside a separate backlog recruitment (Advt. No. 05/2026, 1198 posts). If you qualify for both, you can apply to either or both — but a single combined form and a single fee payment cover both, so there's no need to pay twice.

Exam Pattern — Intermediate Trained Assistant Teacher (Class 1–5)

This category runs across three papers in three separate shifts, with the difficulty pegged at the +2/Intermediate level throughout.

Paper 4 for the Optional Subject is divided into multiple sections; candidates answer only the sections corresponding to their chosen stream (e.g., 3 out of 5 sections for Math & Science).

A subtle but important eligibility point: candidates are ranked in the state-level merit list only for the subject/subject-group in which they hold a valid Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification — so a Science-Math TET holder can't apply the Social Science merit route, and vice versa. Currently serving Para Teachers under the Jharkhand Education Project Council also get a meaningful edge here, with age relaxation tied directly to their years of contract service, up to a ceiling of 58 years — a provision clearly designed to formalize the existing para-teacher workforce into regular positions.
